Sometime before the start of your first semester you will receive an email from Alta Open to your new student email. Open the email from your mobile device and do the following:


  1. Install the Alta Open app (links are in the email)
  2. Click the “Set Up Phone” button.
  3. Accept all the required app permissions for the app to communicate with the door readers



NOTE:

It is important that the above steps are done from the device you wish to use as your mobile credential.  If you click the "Set up phone" on your computer it will do nothing and direct you to open it on your mobile device. You can either forward the email to your mobile device or copy the "Set up Phone" link and open it on your mobile device to activate.


TROUBLESHOOTING:

If for some reason you get a new phone or you lose access to the Alta Open app, simply open up the Alta Open app and type in your Western email and it will automatically send another activation email to the email you provided. (You must already have an account in the system first)
