Your Passwords

Your SIS, WesternSeminary.edu email, and Digital Learning Center (DLC) log ins all use the same password.  How you reset your password depends on where you are when attempting to change the password.  Please read the appropriate section to lean how to change your password from the various Western Seminary portals.  


NOTE: Resetting your password in one place will reset your password everywhere.  If you are unable to change your password from one portal, please try another portal

 

SIS

Your SIS username is your first name, followed by a period, followed by your last name (for example: joe.smith or laura.brown).  You can reset your password from the SIS porta by locating the "forgot your username or password?" link underneath the password entry field, or by clicking here:   SIS Password Reset.


On the password reset page, type in your username as described above (john.doe) OR your full Western Seminary email address ([email protected]).  The password reset mechanism will then send an email to the recovery email address we have on file for you.  


NOTE: 
If you do not receive a password reset email, please check the following:

1) Make sure it isn't in your Junk or Spam folder.  

2) Make sure we have a current personal email address for you.  If you no longer have access to the recovery email address we have on file, please send a help ticket to the Registrar informing them of your change in email address.

Once you receive the password reset email, click on the link contained within and it will take you back to our site where you can reset your password.


Once you reset your password in SIS, your email and DLC passwords will also be reset as well.  However, this may not happen immediately.  Please allow 30 minutes to an hour for the changes to propagate.



Email Account

Your Western Seminary provided Microsoft 365 email account consists of your first name, followed by a period, followed by your last name, followed by WesternSeminary.edu (for example: [email protected] or [email protected]).  To reset your email password via the password reset mechanism provided by Microsoft, visit the login page for you email account by clicking here:   Email login.  


Enter your full email address on the "Sign In" screen and click "Next".  On the "Enter password" screen locate and click on the link for "Forgot my password".  Follow any remaining prompts.  This will only work, however, if you provided a recovery email address or phone number to Microsoft when you first set up your account.


If you are unable to use the Microsoft provided mechanism, please follow the directions above for SIS.



DLC (Digital Learning Center)

Your DLC username is your Western Seminary email address.  It consists of your first name, followed by a period, followed by your last name, followed by WesternSeminary.edu (for example: [email protected] or [email protected]).  Resetting your DLC password is similar to resetting your email password.  

Begin by clicking here:  DLC (Digital Learning Center)


While signing into DLC, enter your full email address on the "Sign In" screen and click "Next".  On the "Enter password" screen locate and click on the link for "Forgot my password".  Follow any remaining prompts.  This will only work, however, if you provided a recovery email address or phone number to Microsoft when you first set up your account.


If you are unable to use the Microsoft provided mechanism, please follow the directions above for SIS.



Can someone at Western just tell me my password or send me a new one?

The short answer is NO.  Due to security mechanisms, we cannot see or retrieve passwords from our systems.  Additionally, in order to maintain security, we also do not change or assign temporary passwords for our users.  The only way to reset a password is to use the password reset mechanisms as outlined above.
